VMC Minutes for the session 2009-10
Minutes of the VMC held on 11.09.2009 in the A V Room of the Vidyalaya.
The first meeting of the VMC for the academic session 2009-10 was held on 11.09.2009 (Friday) in the Audio Visual room of K V Tura headed by the nominee chairman Smt. H D B Sangma MCS ADC, West Garo Hills, Tura at 3.00pm.
The following members were present in the meting.

The meeting started with the formal welcome speech by the Principal Sh. Ch S Rao, Secretary of VMC and he introduced the new members of the VMC reconstituted in the current academic session 2009-10 which will be functioning for the next three years.
Then the meeting proceeded to discuss the agenda points one by one.
I. Academics
(a) Inputs of the Vidyalaya
Last year due to lack of permanent staff, the Board classes as well as the other classes suffered a little but this year KVS has posted teachers for all the vacant posts lying in the Vidyalaya like PGT Physics, PGT Chemistry, PGT Computer Science, PGT Hindi, TGT So.Sci, and TGT Eng. But PGT Physics has not joined the duty. Now the post of PGT Eng and PGT Physics are lying vacant. Contractual appointments against the post of PGT Eng ,two PRTs and computer instructor have been made and Physics classes are being taken by the Principal himself due no availability of suitable PGT Phy candidates in the interview for Part time Contractual teachers which was conducted on 18.07.09 .Also the Principal expressed his anxiety about the resignation of seven teachers during the last year.
The VMC suggested the following points for immediate filling up of the vacant posts
(i) Giving notification for conducting a second interview for Part time contractual teachers in the vacant posts.
(ii) Finding a qualified person from the near by area and get the permission from VMC.
(iii) Intimation may be given to KVS HQ for the immediate appointment of teachers.
(iv) Requesting appointments may exclusively be done for North East by KVS HQ.
(v) Suitable candidates from Guwahati side may be called.
The VMC also expressed their anxiety of resigning teachers and enquired the reasons for resignation from the posts.
The enrolment of the Vidyalaya has decreased from 360 to 314 for the period from 31.07.09 to 31.08.09 due to the transfer of various BSF battalions in Tura. At the same time several battalions are coming on posting to Tura and the enrolment is slowly increasing.
b) Activities of the Vidyalaya :
The Principal explained the activities of the Vidyalaya in various scholastics areas and non scholastics area viz academics, Games and sports, Scouts and Guides, Adventure activities, Exhibitions and Various inter house competitions.
© Achievements in Various events:
Sports and Games: He also remarked the achievements of the Vidyalaya in the KVS Regional Sports meet held at Guwahati.
(d) Academic results : The principal showed the last year’s performance of the Vidyalaya both in internal and Board classes. Miss. Menakshi Mahur Class X got merit certificate from CBSE in Hindi.
The VMC Congratulated the achievements and hope for the best in future also.
II. Budget approval
Next the VMC started discussion on VVN budget for the year 2009-2010. The principal showed and explained the various heads of VVN budget and the anticipated expenditure in detail and a request has been made for its approval.
The VMC approved the budget and gave sanction for the purchase of the materials both under recurring and nonrecurring heads such as examination department, Computer software and peripherals, Games and sports, Audio visual equipments like LCD Projector and Musical Instruments, CMP, Library books, Campus Beautification and Office contingency. Also approved the expenditure that will be incurred in the Pupil society , Security of the school campus and repair of furniture
III. Notification of VEC (Vidyalaya Executive Committee)
The Principal proposed the names of the members of VEC in the VMC meeting for approval from the Hon’ Chairman. The VMC approved the list of new VEC and it will be effective from this academic session.
IV. Other Points discussed
The VMC urged that appropriate steps may be taken by the school authorities to up bring the overall image of the Vidyalaya in Tura.
The meting concluded at 4.30 with an announcement that the next meeting will be conducted sometime in the month of November 2009 and the vote of thanks by the Principal for the concern shown by all the members of VMC towards the school.
